Network Marketing leads can be expensive and sometimes they don’t produce the results that are promised. I’m going to show you how to find some of the best prospects without spending a dime or hitting up your friends and family. My husband and I built a sales force of over 20,000 people in 2 years with most of my top producers coming from leads that were FREE!

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

If you are like I was and have no advertising budget then you have two options, talk to friends and family or do situational prospecting. Since most modern network marketers are now part of the NFL (no friends left) and tremble at the thought of approaching friends and family with yet another “opportunity of a lifetime”, we are going to focus on situational prospecting.

Situational prospecting allows you to create a market out of thin air doing the things you normally do every day. You do this without the expense and anxiety of working cold and warm market leads. Situational prospecting taps into the luke-warm market, which is the people you run into throughout the course of a normal day at the post office, grocery store, your children’s school, at work, the bank, etc…

Let’s say you are at the post office and you see the same postman that’s been there for years. You may not know his name but he is familiar to you. What is important is that you don’t go into the post office with the intention of selling him into your business opportunity. This is what the MLM amateurs do with little to no success. Your only intention should be to get to know who the postman really is. What’s he all about? What are his needs? What is he looking for?

Questions you can ask in any situation are: Where are you from? How long have you been working here? What do you like most about what you do? What do you like the least? Do you have family in the area? Kids? What do you like to do for fun? Where would you like to go? By asking these types of questions you will learn a tremendous amount about this prospect.

You now know what this person’s needs, strengths and goals are. When you can find out those three things, you become unstoppable! It is very simple to learn those three things. No matter what you do for a living, if you utilize this concept of locking in people’s needs strengths and goals you can build a successful career in any field.

How do you start this process? It’s simple, start with a smile, a hello, find something you admire about them and give a compliment. Show a genuine interest in that prospect and they will light up because most people don’t bother to even notice them. In doing this it is important to just be yourself as if you were talking to a friend. The last thing you want to do is come off as a salesperson asking the cliché questions that they’ve heard before like, “do you see yourself working here forever?” Yuck!

Ask yourself this question, do you want to be the person that others are shouting out about saying, “you’ve got to meet this person, she’s amazing!” Or, do you want to be the person that people are avoiding? Practice these relationship building people skills everywhere you go and you will never run out of quality prospects who want to work with you.

There comes a time when you need to ask yourself a very serious set of questions. Are you going to do this? Or are you going to believe excuses for the rest of your life? Are you going to make a firm decision to work your business as a career? Or will you forever work it like a hobby and whine about your results? Let me show you what this looks like.

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

Imagine if you will what this same kind mindset would create if someone applied this in a hospital setting. When a person is facing a life threatening situation and they are in the emergency room of a hospital how would they feel if the doctor showed up and said, “You know I am giving this my best shot, I graduated last year and well I work this position as Doctor in the E.R. as often as I can, when my kids are acting right and my wife isn’t nagging me, so here we go! I’ll do the best I can!” Most people would be rolling off the table and running out of there, and if they couldn’t run they’d be elbowing it army style as quickly as they could. Yet that is what people say everyday in their home based business and for some odd reason, they believe these excuses. I have always believed excuses to be nothing more than well planned lies.

When I was first developing my home based business I was taught three important truths that would make or break me. These three issues are the activities that separate someone who makes $10.00 per month from someone who makes $10,000 per month. In training and coaching people during the last 17 years I have noticed how important these same issues are. They are the dividing line between someone succeeding and someone failing, period, end of story.

Basics, People Skills and Personal Growth- These Dictate Your Income

Basics- This is when you pick up the phone and talk to someone. You hand out flyers and give out your business card. These are the basics. If you don’t do the basics you don’t have a business.

People Skills- This influences who you will talk to and who you will avoid. Your people skills dictate what happens when you are in conflict with a team member or a prospect. Will you stomp your feet and quit or will you do what it takes to get along with people, even those you don’t agree with? People skills affect your paycheck greatly.

Personal Growth- This is where the rubber hits the road. No one has ever made it to 6-figures and above without dealing with their personal growth. Your personal growth has everything to do with your paycheck. Avoid personal growth training and issues and you will never make it to the level of a pro.

This last issue I must address emphatically. Because you see, your level of personal growth dictates if you will work even when you don’t feel like it. Personal growth has a lot to do with whether or not circumstances dictate your hours of business. (You know, I work 2 hours on Monday, I work 4 on Tues, I don’t like to work on Wed because of soccer games with my kids, I work on Thurs if I can fit it in and I try to work on Friday night). Hours of business need to be consistent with the word business. A grocery story would never dream of being open in this sporadic way- can you imagine if you needed diapers on the day the store owner ‘didn’t feel like coming in’!?

There are going to be times in your business when you just have to ask yourself, “Am I going to do this or not? Am I going to the top or am I not? Will I do whatever it takes to succeed or not?” Ironically these are the same questions that a doctor must ask himself before he goes into Med School. If he were to show up for school or on his 24 hours shift assignment when he feels like it he would soon be thrown out of Med School! Yet everyday, people who call themselves home business owners, operate in this exact same way- they work when they can fit it in, when they feel like it, when the moon, stars and the universe line up. Sadly, they can’t figure out why they don’t have a paycheck. Small wonder, not one business on the planet could prosper with that mindset.

It’s important to address these three issues if you are going to succeed in this business you are in. Make sure you are doing the basics everyday. Get training and build your people skills. Lastly, work on your personal growth everyday, every year.

Let me tell you about one of my clients, his name is Tyler. When he first came to coach with me he was homeless, with 8 kids, living with his wife and his children at a relatives house. I told him what I just told you – decide when you are working, treat this like a career, make the decision right now to never be homeless again and let’s get to work. He made that decision and made 6-figures his first year in business. Thank God he made that decision, his children and his wife were depending on him! When Tyler got on the phone and did prospecting, when Tyler held a business presentation he didn’t take into consideration if he felt like it or not, he didn’t take into consideration if this was a good day for his kids, his wife, himself- he went to work. He worked his home based business like a career and it paid him like one, to the tune of 6-figures!

Now I know you didn’t get started in your business venture to fail, and you didn’t get started in this business to be miserable. So you have one thing you must do right now. Make the decision right now to work your business as a career and I promise you, the results will shock you!<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_legal.php'); ?>

You just purchased some fresh home based business leads and it amazes you how many prospects are not there when you call. People aren’t calling back when you leave a voicemail message and you feel like you’ve wasted your time and money. Let me show you a foolproof voicemail message that makes prospects want to call you back right away.

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

You’re excited about the advertising campaign you just invested in and, as the leads come in, you start dialing, looking for the next Network Marketing superstar to join your team. Every time the voicemail picks up you get this sinking feeling because you’ve heard many times that people won’t call you back when you leave a message. You can choose not to leave a message and try calling back at different times or you can work smarter by leaving a message that compels prospects to call you back immediately.

The number one most important key when leaving a message is that you do not sound like a stranger. We have a concept that we teach called “friends first” which means that we begin ANY conversation whether in person or recorded in a friendly way. This requires that you have the same posture and body language as if you were talking to a friend. When you call one of your buddies and say, “hey Bob, what’s up? Give me a call, I gotta tell you something, bye,” you don’t sound like a stranger. I would leave a message for a prospect in the very same way. However which way I lead that conversation is how they will respond to it.

The 2nd key when leaving a message is not to come across as a salesperson. You are not talking to a machine. You are actually talking to a live person that’s going to listen to your message. Just because you are in a business that markets products or services does not mean that you suddenly become a telemarketer when prospecting. How many telemarketers do you call back when they leave a message?

The 3rd key is to actually call yourself and leave a message. You can practice this using one of my well-known voicemail scripts, leave a message listen to your message and ask yourself, “Would I call me back?” You’ll know within the first ten seconds whether you would call back or not. You only have a few seconds to make a lasting impression and to create and eager want in the prospect to call you back.

If the prospect responded to a company specific advertisement then you would want to include your company’s name in the message. If the advertisement was non-company specific, then it’s best to leave the company name out. For this example, your ad is general home business and does not mention your company’s name. Here’s what your message will sound like, “Hi Bob, this is Dani. I’m calling you back to get you the information you requested. I’ve been with the company for a few weeks and I’ve already made a thousand dollars. We’re doing some pre-screening interviews right now because there’s a lot of work on our part in establishing somebody in a home based business. So, if you are serious go ahead and give me a call back. I’ll get you that information and we’ll see if you have the qualities of the type of person we’re looking for. At that point we’ll decide if we are going to work together. My phone number is …

This message is simple and highly effective in getting cold market lead prospects to call you back. Put this and my cold market prospecting script into play and watch these prospects eat out of your hands and join your Network Marketing business immediately. Last thing to remember is that the more people you call, the more you enroll and the faster your home business grows.<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_legal.php'); ?>

The term “residual income” is thrown around loosely in the MLM world but few actually experience it. One major key to momentum, duplication and long-term stability in your home-based business is to develop people on your team who will do better than you. Once you have in place at least 10 legs with reps that can produce the same or even better results than you can, you now have the makings of a multi-million dollar enterprise. In this article, I will show you how to get that process started.

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

In a typical large corporation, your skill increases as you move up the ladder. Most home business builders do not initially possess the skill to develop other people nor do they have the ability to start someone properly. In the following scenario, I have just enrolled Bob after a business presentation to join my marketing team and I am taking him to the very next step.

Bob is excited to get his business off the ground as he awaits my direction. This is what I tell him, “Bob, I’m looking for a project for the month, someone who is deadly serious about building a dynamic business. I will be building an organization and a paycheck with this person. If you are willing to carry your 50 bricks, I will definitely carry mine and together we will carry the whole load to build this business we are in.”

“I’m going to give you some steps and when you follow through on those, I will give you some more steps. Our goal is to build you a clientele and make you some money within the next 48-72 hours. First, we need to begin your training. The Audio Training Vault at http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/members/ has over 50 hours of free training available for you.”

“Listen to at least an hour a day of this training and you will be equipped to move your business forward. Start by listening to the call dated August 29, 2005. The next step is to watch the short video. When I talk to you tomorrow I’m going to ask you what you learned from the call and video.”

When your new rep demonstrates that he is teachable and will follow directions, you proceed with OJT, On The Job training and strongly recommend that he purchases the foundational sales tools and registers for the next live event. The people on your team who follow these simple steps will be the ones with the most results in the shortest amount of time. Get this process started with all of your new reps and watch your business skyrocket!

You live in a small rural community where you don’t know many people. How are you going to build a thriving Network Marketing business? The answer may surprise you because it’s easier than you think…

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

I started in a small town of 5,000 where I only knew a handful of people. My husband had just moved me to this little Hawaiian town and then he took off to Japan with another woman. Not only did I not know anybody, I was also an emotional wreck!

On top of all that, I was a white girl living among native Hawaiians who for the most part don’t trust white people. Oh, and by the way, I was marketing a weight loss program to a culture where it is considered beautiful to be heavy. Luckily, I didn’t discover that until after I had some success or I most likely would have never started.

Back to the question of how do you start a business in a small town? You do the same thing as you would in a big city, talk to people, talk to people, talk to people…you network like a maniac!

Every organization I’ve started in a small town has taken off like wildfire. Why, because everybody knows everybody else and they are usually a tight knit group. When something exciting takes off, everybody wants to get involved.

Not to mention that everybody in that small town knows somebody outside of that town. They have friends and family that have moved away and started families in other towns and they still have contacts from the places they’ve moved from. And don’t forget that the rest of the folks in your small town know people outside of that area.

The problem with so many people with little to no business experience is that they suffer from small thinking. This small thinking stops us from hitting big goals.

The first thing you have to do is attack the market that is right there where you live. Make your list of resources, which will have names of local people you know at the top. This list needs to start with at least 200 names if you are serious about building a successful business. This list is your biggest asset in the beginning. This list will naturally expand into the people you and your local friends know outside of your town.

You also have the option of working an advertising campaign where you purchase leads containing people who have expressed an interest in making money from home. With websites, conference calls, and a variety of other ways to expose your business, there’s nothing stopping you from building your team locally and thousands of miles away.

The fact is that many of the largest sales forces were started in small towns. I went from homeless to millionaire in 2 years starting from that small town in Hawaii. There’s no reason why you can’t do the same so get busy, start talking to people and watch your business explode!

I’m blown away with the amount of excuses that people can come up with. It’s ridiculous and completely endless how people invent them in order not to succeed. Most people spend their entire life instantaneously choosing excuses.
Excuses are so engrained into us that it becomes a knee-jerk reaction, something we instantly come up with for reasons why we can’t do something instead of coming up with ideas how to make it happen. We’ve been conditioned for excuses by the media, Internet, advertising, and movies.
But, what about results? Why aren’t we conditioned for them instead of for reasons and excuses?

I’ve always said that the definition of an excuse is a well-planned lie.

“Gosh, I’d love to but I’m kind of busy.”

“I don’t have the time for that.”

“I’m too old (or too young).”

“I’m too fat (or too skinny).”

“I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.”

I believe that this is the number one roadblock that keeps people from success! Let me share my own personal story about excuses.

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

Twenty years ago when I was homeless during the month of December, I allowed excuses to take me down a path of destruction. My reasons were real. I had no money and no job. My husband had deserted me in Hawaii for another woman who was in Japan and took off with everything. He drained my bank account and left me with $2.03 to my name and a $35,000 credit card debt with no chance of charging anything else on them. Nothing was going right and I let these reasons make me homeless and turn to drugs. This was the worst thing I could have ever done.

At the beach, I dived into a wave. When I came up, I heard a voice that said “pick up your mat and walk!” I did, and never looked back. The next day, I started a business out of the trunk of my car and made $2,000 in four days.

What changed on that next day? Nothing changed. I still had no money. I was still homeless with a husband who had deserted me and a father who hated me. My circumstances were exactly the same. Nothing around me shifted except for one thing—I made a decision. I made a choice.

Until I said, “Enough is enough! God didn’t intend for me to be mediocre. It’s time for me to shut up, step up and do something.” That’s when my circumstances began to change. Because I made a decision at that moment, the rest is history.

After coaching and training thousands of people all of these years, I’ve found this to be the number one reason for business failure—indecision. In my opinion, making a decision is the number one thing that will get you on the fast track to success! Those that succeeded simply made a decision to do whatever it takes to make it. They made a decision that “enough was enough!” They were tired of looking at two cans of beans and having to choose the lesser priced one because that’s what the checkbook dictated.

Until you make a decision to change and do whatever it takes to make it, you will continually be blocked from true and long-lasting success. Do the number one thing that will get you on the fast track to success—make a decision and kiss excuses goodbye!

The worst thing about success is a little bit. This is when you begin to think that you’ve got it all together, all figured out, and don’t need any more help. You move from humble, desperate, and teachable all the way to completely stubborn, pig-headed, and unsuccessfully directing others to do what you don’t even know how to do. This is the worst thing about success!

But the best lesson that I ever learned that made me a millionaire is this:

I had a little bit of success in business which earned me an invitation into a board meeting with a man making a half-a-million dollars a month. I was the only woman in the room and all the other participants were within 5 years of my age.

Everyone was chiming in and talking, when I spoke up and said, “You know, I have a great idea!”

The millionaire slams his hand on the desk and completely humiliates me by saying, “You are so stupid!”

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

Steam came out of my ears and I know I turned a bright red. At this time, I had issues with men due to my upbringing, and I didn’t need much to be set off.

He asks, “How much money do you make?”

“Well, I’m just getting started.”

“Well, how much money do I make?”

“A half-a-million dollars a month!”

“You know what’s wrong with you 97-percenters?” he continued. “You’re so busy sizing yourself up to people like me in order to prove to yourself that you know something. But you’re so stupid. If I listened to your ideas, I’ll go broke just like you. Your ideas are worth ‘broke.’ My ideas are worth a half-a-million dollars a month. Sit down, shut up, and pay attention. Once your stack is as big as mine, then you can talk to me.”

Would you say that statement was mean, cruel, humiliating and wrong for a leader to speak like that to a young person who was just getting started? Would you have been totally offended by such a statement?

I would say that was the best day of my business career because that day, I learned that if I wanted to succeed I needed to learn from successful people. I learned not to try to size myself up to prove that others don’t know squat and that I know more or that I’m worthy to be in their presence.

This was the best lesson I learned, and using it helped me become a millionaire.

Are you blaming circumstances or others for your lack of success? Are you blind to the overlooked obvious? Many people just can’t see what the true problem to their success is? Are you one of them?

I’ll never forget a conversation I had several months ago with a waitress who worked at a restaurant my husband and I would often visit. We were on a weekly date, something that we’ve done for years, and decided to have a burger. Well, whenever we go to this certain place there’s always a line inside and outside waiting to get in. And, that was the case this particular night.

After we were seated, I struck up a conversation with the waitress. “Wow,” I said, “You guys are really packed.”

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

“Actually, not really! It’s been really slow tonight,” she answered.

“Really? You think so?”

“Oh, yes! The economy… People just aren’t going out anymore.”

I looked around, and of course, the restaurant was jam-packed, like it is normally. Then I looked at her. Somehow this woman had been blinded by what she had heard about the economy. She had been deafened by the words and voices of mediocrity that said, “The economy is bad and people won’t be going out anymore or spending money.” Unfortunately for her, she believed this report and began repeating what she heard verbally and non-verbally.

The truth was that the place was at capacity, and then some! It was as though the economy was thriving, if just for that restaurant!

But was it thriving for her? Definitely, not! In fact, I can guarantee that because she put a little damper on our meal (and I’m sure others also), this affected the tip she received that night.

Our waitress made the mistake that afflicts the majority of the population—the 98% attitude! She believed that the economy was so bad that people had stopped going out and spending money. She also believed that she will eventually lose her job. In essence, all she had to do was to really open her eyes and see the obvious—the economy had not affected her workplace! It was as packed as it had ever been before.

It was her attitude that had been affected. Her thoughts and words were in sync with that of the majority, and she had succumbed to the 98% attitude, which affected her job performance. She took to heart the bad reports coming in, which blinded and deafened her to the reality of her bustling workplace. As a result, tips will certainly dry up and her job may certainly be lost. But “the economy” is not the culprit; it’s her 98% attitude. She’s the one driving business away and putting her own job in jeopardy!

The sad thing is that she won’t see her contribution to her dilemma. And that’s a major issue with the majority of the population. They hear the bad news, see the struggle, internalize it, and then begin acting it out.

“Oh, no! What’s going to happen to me?”

“I hope I don’t lose my job.”

“Oh, man! I hope my business is not affected.”

“There goes my retirement!”

Who speaks like this? The 98%! Their voices encourage blindness, fear and panic.

Turn a deaf ear to them and begin working with all you have. Never allow outside forces to dictate your perceptions and judgments. Otherwise, they can have devastating effects on your attitude and job performance.

I learned some strategies very early in my business career from a multi-millionaire. These strategies guaranteed my success and can do the same for you.

1. Don’t give any opinions or suggestions.
When I was invited to a board meeting with this multi-millionaire, he told me to sit down, shut up, and pay attention. “Once your stack is as big as mines, then you can offer your opinion or suggestions,” he stated. This was a harsh thing for him to say in response to a suggestion I wanted to make. But it got my attention, and this became one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my business career. So I offer it to you. Keep your suggestions to yourself and listen. Use every opportunity to learn from an expert instead of trying to size up to them to prove your worthiness or superiority.

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

2. Humble yourself, be teachable, and ask questions.
For 18 years, I’ve been studying successful people. Whether they were successful in business or in marriage, I wanted to know their secret because I knew that they had a lesson to share.

Wherever I go and wherever I find them, I’m not afraid to ask. If I’m sitting on a plane with someone successful in a career I’m interested in or need help with, I’ll ask, “What’s the secret to your success?” As a result, I’ve been a sponge for 18 years studying, getting coaching, and asking questions everywhere I go.

How many of us don’t ask for help often enough?

What I’ve found, unfortunately, is that some of our egos are so big that we won’t ask for help because that’s admitting to having a problem. How pathetic! If we don’t ask for help when needed, then we’re living inside a big, fat, ego trip.

We have to get our egos out of the way, remove our little masks and behind-the-scenes lifestyle, and humble ourselves. Then we need to confess, “My business is in trouble. Can you give me some advice?” Or, “My marriage is in trouble and I need help!”

When you seek help, ask those with a proven record of success in the area of your interest or need. Ask experts, not someone who is reading and testing it out or some self-proclaimed guru whose only success is getting you to his seminar.

If you want to be successful in business, should you ask the janitor? Of course, not! You’ll interview him (or her) only if you want to be successful in the janitorial business.

Humble yourself, get rid of your ego, and start asking for help, then do what they do so you can get what they have. And don’t look at the circumstances and say: “Things are just hard for me. That’s the way it is! That’s the way it’s always been, and that’s the way it’s always going to be.” Find the answers to your challenges so that you can succeed in life. Make a decision to change. Either that, or stay in your rut!

3. Follow directions.
Have you reinvented the wheel 10,000 times since you’ve gotten started in business? Are you looking for a better answer because you don’t like the answer you’ve received? Are you looking for a different way because you don’t like what was shown you? Maybe you don’t like what’s being shown you so you’re trying to do it another way. That’s reinventing the wheel. If that’s the case, then you’ve wasted too much valuable time already, and time is money. Just follow directions, and get it done!

The multi-millionaire told me, “If you don’t do what I tell you to do, we’re done. If I tell you to read this script and you change it, we’re done. If I tell you to call ten people and you call eight, we’re done. If I tell you to go to a training seminar, and you don’t show up, we’re done. There is no mercy, Dani. If you don’t follow what I tell you to do, we’re done!”

4. Invest in your education if you want to succeed.
“Free” is not going to cut it. You need to invest in yourself if you want to make a higher level of income. Attorneys and doctors invest in their education, so you’ve got to invest in yours.

Ninety-eight percent of the population is always looking for a great deal and an easy way to get out of having to doing something. We’ve become a microwave society. But I will tell you that the millionaires I know don’t ever look for security. That’s what 98% of the population does.

Many of us are investing our money in the wrong thing. We’ve been sold to finance our dream vacation on VISA. We’ve been sold to go into debt in order to live the “life.” We’ve been sold many things that keep us broke, average, and controlled by others.

Our lives should be lived by design! So let me sell you on this:

That you were not intended for average or mediocrity

That you are not living your life the way you ought to and that there is something bigger and better out there

You were designed for something bigger and better than what you are living right now

Go home and transform your family; raise a generation that is not going after mediocrity but after everything that is intended for them

A balanced life that is void of debt, despair, and confusion

Not giving up your life for money

A life that you never thought you could live!

Take these strategies and go out and knock over the world with one fell swoop. You can!

Birds of a feather flock together. You’ve heard that old adage before, but now you can use it to determine whether or not you’re on the right path for success. Here’s how.

In business, we apply this concept to people by saying that there are two kinds of population groups—the 98% and the 2%–and they flock with their own kind.

The 98% flock is the majority of the population. These are the people who think that they have it all together. They’ve bought into the American dream hook, line, and sinker and have created, as a result, a lifetime of personal debt.

<?php include('http://www.workathomeprofitzone.com/includes/article_adrotator.php'); ?>

They’ve also fallen into laziness, unhealthy work ethics, lack of vision, and the practice of ignoring the voice of the 2% that’s deep within them. (This voice is within each one of us.) They have become crippled with the 98% virus, which is the voice of mediocrity.

Be careful of this voice! I hear it around me everyday. I see it in practice daily. This voice penetrates our very being without our awareness. It says, "Don’t work late." It says, "You may not want to try that because it may not work out." Advice of this kind spreads like a virus contaminating all who listen.

Subliminal messages of the 98% come from every source. It comes from the media, the Internet, and our favorite TV programs. It comes from our friends, teachers, and business associates. So you have to be on guard. This voice trains the majority to fall in line. It’s used to keep them fearful and afraid to step out and take risks. The 98% virus has been designed specifically for this purpose.

Why?

Fearful people are easy to control. Fearful people are buried in their excuses.

"I can’t do it; it’s not my personality."

"I really can’t afford to get started in that business, buy those CDs, or attend that seminar."

"I just need some more time to make a decision to go."

"Maybe I’ll get started in that business next month."

Let me tell you something else about the 98% group. It doesn’t matter how many times the stock market or real estate market rises or falls; this flock will be dead or dead broke at the age of 65!

The 2% flock is completely different in every way. This flock has learned to find out what everybody else is doing, and then do the exact opposite. You won’t find them making excuses or being paralyzed by fear. They take risks, and this makes them successful.

So ask yourself: Am I following the mindset of 2% of the population or 98%? Which bird am I flocking with? If you find it difficult to answer those questions, then consider this short survey:

What are your current interests?

What do you talk about with your friends?

What is your favorite TV show or Internet game?

Are you a MySpace or Facebook person?

Do you spend a lot of time in chat rooms and reading blogs? If so, then what do you spend your time chatting about?

Who do you listen to or who influences you?

What are you attracted to and where does that attraction lead?

Inventory your life and the people you associate with. You may be surprised what you find out. Taking time to answer these questions will help you determine whether you are on the right path to success or not.

Remember, birds of a feather flock together and 2% of the population finds out what everybody else is doing, and then does the exact opposite.
