Hi, this is Isa and I want to share a quick story…

Growing up in Philadelphia, I came from a poverty stricken background. I remember our family needing government assistance just to help with the lack of income every month. I hated the idea of me ending up poor, unhappy with life and in a constant state of depression.

This is JP and I want to share a true story that I personally witnessed back in May of 1991. I had just attended a business training in Honolulu. There I met an 18 year old kid with a blonde mullet, sandals, shorts and a worn out short sleaved shirt. He was quiet and reserved, not the makings of a successful business man. I honestly didn’t see how he would possibly make it in a home based business.

Then, a scary thing happened. This kid asked if he could quit his job, move to California and work his new business full time with our team. At this point, I thought he was destined for failure.

Back in 1991 I got started in a home business selling weight loss programs. I ran an advertising campaign that produced 77 phone calls from people wanting to lose weight. I started calling these folks back and reading Dani Johnson’s retail phone script. The first 10 people kept giving me excuses and nobody was buying.

Fortunately for me, before I blew out all of these prospective clients, Dani Johnson worked with me over the phone. She said, “JP, read me the script.” After my first couple of sentences she stopped me and said, “Yuck, you sound like a slimy salesperson.” I responded, “What do you mean?” Dani replied, “Read the script just like that!” “Like what?” “Like you’re talking to me right now, you know, your friend Dani.”

Let me start by saying that this is not a typical July by any means. In past years, business, career advancement and personal development skill building came to a screeching halt while people relaxed, took vacations and participated in hot summer fun activities.
