Congratulations, you’ve attained the success in your business that most people only dream of. Your check is over 5 figures per month and you have hit one of the top positions in your company’s compensation plan. It’s time to step back and train up your budding leaders, sharing the wisdom and strategies that got you to the top…right? No way Jose! If you are at the top, there’s only one place to go and it’s a deep valley straight down. This happens nearly every time leaders stop doing the very activity that moved them up to the top. Stop prospecting and your check will be at a standstill, remain at a standstill or even start to decline.


You’ve got to talk to new fresh prospects just like you did in the beginning. Shock your team this week and get on the bonus pools. Get out of your comfort zone. There is no risk in a comfort zone. There is no life in a comfort zone. There is no passion in a comfort zone. A comfort zone is a total façade. It’s time to rise up out of management mode, get on the bonus charts and shock your group by hitting number one!

Shoot for number one this week and you will gain major respect from your team and all those working around you when they see that you are in the trenches, fighting the same battles that they do. Could you imagine every active member of your team reaching to do his or her personal best this month? What does that picture look like?

Or, you can have people in your organization calling you to whine because they couldn’t get a hold of somebody. They call asking you for coaching because you are the only person that can help them. You then spend 10 hours a week helping 10 people and nothing comes out of it. This, my friends is the danger zone.

Now imagine the explosion that would come if your team members were all focused on the same thing, talking to people, fresh new prospects, presenting the business several times a day. By the end of the week, many of them are grabbing those bonuses and getting the recognition. You are now prospecting like a maniac, telling your group that you are going for number one this week and inviting people to join you. Can you imagine what would happen? Your check will blow your mind!

You have a choice and a chance to make this an awesome month for you and everyone else around you because you are leading by example. Whatever you focus on is what you’ll get more of. Go at it with all you’ve got. You know you can do it. I’m excited for the massive growth that will result from you truly leading your team with action and results!
